Kate Middleton news: Prince William & Duchess protect children’s privacy with photography

Kate Middleton, 39, and Prince William, 38, have been married since April 29, 2011. The royals live in the public eye but may have appeared to give their children as much privacy as possible.

Princess Charlotte is fourth in line to the throne, followed by Prince Louis, who is sixth.

It is likely the young royals will already be learning some family protocols.

Despite this, Kate and Prince William have mostly ensured the royals stay out of the public eye.

While they have made rare public appearances, royals fans usually get a glimpse of the children when pictures are released.

DON’T MISS

The Duchess of Cambridge is known for her love of photography and will often share family photos she has taken herself.

By doing this, Kate could be trying to protect their privacy by limiting how much of her children is seen, according to Zoe Bonser, show director at The Baby Show.

The expert commented: “Kate generally seems to be commended as a great and inspirational mum.

“She promotes that children deserve time, attention and love from their parents.

She has been given an honorary lifetime membership to the Royal Photographic Society to celebrate her family portraits.

While Kate will often take her own pictures, the expert stated she will sometimes allow them to make public appearances where they are photographed.

Zoe told Express.co.uk: “Kate is definitely seen as more traditional.

“For instance, the children are always dressed in traditional British clothing for public appearances and these appearances are often accompanied with a lot of photos of the children.”

The royal line of succession – who outranks who?

The line of succession to the British throne dictates the order in which each member of the Royal Family would ascend to the throne.

It is also seen as a ranking of importance with the head of the line, the Queen, taking the place of ruler.

Older children come before younger children. Traditionally boys came before girls, but this law was changed on 26 March 2015 before the birth of Prince William’s first child.

Incredibly, Catholics are still excluded from the line of succession, as are children born outside of wedlock.

The royals, who usually stick to a strict protocol when appearing in public, often arrive at events in ascending order of importance, with the most important royal arriving last.

Prince Charles, 72, is currently first-in-line to the British throne, followed by Prince William, 38, his oldest son.

Then comes Prince William’s children, George, seven, Charlotte, five, and Louis, two, and they are followed by Prince Harry, 36. Prince Harry is succeeded by his son Archie Harrison, born in May 2019.
